Plans for the Holidays and a Special Double Recipe

Merry Christmas Graphic

My Plans for the Holidays

Hi everyone. It is the last two days before Christmas. And I wanted to share my plans for the Holidays with you all. Today I am sitting down with my boys and making brownies from my grammy’s recipe. She passed away 11 years ago and my mom got some of her recipes from her box. We lost several though because of the fire that happened to my mom. But the boys love the easy brownie recipe she has. So, we are sitting down to make them with home-made icing. I plan to add sprinkles and m&m’s to the top for decoration. This treat is for Christmas Eve with the family.

I got all my Christmas presents wrapped early this year. This means I don’t have to scramble around while the boys are home to wrap. Got it done while they were in school. This year it was weird. They got out on Friday for Christmas break. Usually it is a Wednesday early out but this year Christmas landed in the middle of the week.

The plans have always been to do some activities on Christmas Eve with the boys while we have snacks out to enjoy. We do the big meal on Christmas Day. Christmas Eve we open presents as a family with my mom. Then the boys open Santa’s gifts on Christmas Day. After that we have to go through setting everything up for their toys.

We just got done having my Christmas with the girls at my place. It doubled as a birthday party for both my oldest, niece, Hailey, and my mom. Their birthdays are super close to Christmas and it has always been done this way since the girls were babies.

Now I shared my plans for Christmas. How about your share some of your traditions in the comments below? You will also find the brownie recipe I use further down in this post. Hope everyone has a great Christmas or Happy Holidays if you don’t celebrate Christmas. Next up is New Year’s.
