。・:*˚:✧。MY REVIEW。・:*˚:✧。
Cheryl is your typical college student that struggles with self-esteem issues with finding people that like her art. She has been working at the Onyx Dragon Corporation as an intern for six months and is madly in love with the head CEO, Malachite. The only problem, he doesn’t know she exists beyond being a personal assistant.
Malachite's main goal in life it to be the number one company in Draconis. But now his mother is forcing a mating with the empress that intends to destroy his business. He’s forced to find a mate to present to his mother that will save his company but along the way bumps happen that jeopardize the company, anyway.
Malachite thinks the solution is Cheryl, because she is Cheryl. And always there when he needs her, and she is reliable. His feelings grow as they get to know one another but it is obvious alien dragons are clueless on how to actually date a human. This leads to a lot of heartache and drama between the pair.
You really have to step back and analyze their relationship. In both ways, the two characters are pretty juvenile in thinking towards one another. Malachite focuses mainly on his company and doesn’t seem to understand that Cheryl, the woman of his dreams, has needs. Slowly he wakes up to the truth but you are sitting there wanting to pound it into his head. He definitely is from another planet.
Cheryl is juvenile because she wants attention on her and her needs. She not only seeks it from Malachite, but her mother as well. Cheryle can’t seem to figure out how to stand in the light and be the strong woman she believes she can be. She likes to hide and not stand up for herself.
The drama between these two characters makes the story along with the side humor that is pushed throughout the book by his brothers. You get to see them both evolve throughout the book and by the end; you find yourself happy to see them together with a HEA. The journey to the end is worth reading and you find yourself eager to meet the other characters in the series as well.
If I had to give this book a rating out of 5 stars. It would be a 5/5 stars hands down. I would highly recommend this to readers that enjoy watching characters evolve to a better person with excellent world building. Can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
