K.M. Jenkins' Evolution—A Monthly Check-In!

November Check-In Graphic: K.M. Jenkins

Monthly Update

Hard to believe November is already here. I planned to write throughout October but it never happened. It kind of hit the fan hard on life curveballs. My mom had knee surgery on October 11th. She was in and out, which was good. But then came the hard work on my part. I got the enjoyment and hard labor to drive her to every appointment, along with my kids’ appointments, and my own. Then add in dropping off and picking up kids from school. It was a never-ending struggle.

Now, after about 2 1/2 weeks, my mom got really sick. So, sick I had to stay overnight two nights in a row. I didn’t sleep those two nights, because her place was so hot I couldn’t fall asleep. After the third day we took her to the doctor to find out she has an infection. She got admitted to the hospital, and I got a few days to myself to work on my business. I got almost caught up on things to a point where I wasn’t stressing much anymore about projects for my clients. But my writing suffered immensely this month. Hopefully, it will be different in November.

Writing Goals

This month I want to delve back into my story titled, “The SwordMaster Brothers.” I am still editing it. There was a lot of feedback from my editor, Allison. This means there will be rewrites. I just don’t know how long this editing will take. The plan is to have half of it done by the end of November. There are only like eight chapters in the entire book, so I would like to be in chapter four or more by the end of the month.

I do plan to work on my new book in the Predators of Darkness Series. The title is still unknown and I don’t know the name of the leading lady but it will come to me, eventually. Still got some world building to do on this one or I might start working on it with the outline to start. In writing perspective I would like to have 5,000-10,000 words written in this story by the end of the month.

Holiday Plans

We do little for Thanksgiving anymore. My sister is a huge butthead and we don’t get along with her because of her choice to not like my kids. Most likely we will have a Thanksgiving with a roast or something simple. Then we will work on putting our Christmas decorations up on the night of Thanksgiving or on Black Friday.

Not sure if I will go out shopping on Black Friday. The nice thing about being estranged from your sister is you don’t have to buy any presents for them. Since her kids were my list pretty much I can focus on my boys and the people that matter. Not sure yet what we are getting the boys this year but I think I will wait for Cyber Monday on Amazon or other stores before I go out at 5 A.M. again to shop to I drop.

Thank You

I would like to thank you for reading this far. Few people get excited about this kind of chatter from an upcoming author. But I want to give an insight into my life as I work on projects and plan to share content as I go. Subscribe to my blog to receive emailed updates when I release a new post.

Hope everyone has a great November. Please share in the comments some of your plans, writing goals/reading goals, or holiday plans for this month.
