My future writing endeavours…

I’m halfway done drafting a historical/paranormal novel with the working title of His Fourth Wife. I always wanted to write a story with a jiisakii. In Ojibway, that is a man who operates the jiisakaan (shaking tent) where he communes with the spirits. But in this novel, the jiisakii is not a good man. He is evil and cunning. He desires the heroine to become his fourth wife, and he finds a way to make sure this happens, even though she loves another man. That is all I’ll say. I don’t want to give too much away until I post the blurb at my website.

I also plan on finishing the last two novels in my Maizemerized series. Book one, Born for This is available. The last two will feature the heroine’s (from the first novel) younger sister. The third will be her brother. Maizemerized is a paranormal, time-travel series that starts in the current day and the characters are taken deep into the past via a corn maze, courtesy of the Ojibway corn spirit Mandaamin.

Just as Collin set his fingers on the volume button, the corner of his eye caught the slim silhouette in his right headlight. Someone was out on the road in this mess? A woman?

He let his foot off the gas and downshifted, casting his gaze to the rearview mirror, but only his red taillights appeared.

With the windshield wipers continuing to zoom back and forth, he guided the car to the shoulder, shifted the stick to neutral, and engaged the emergency brake.

Insane. There was nobody out here drowning in the rain. He got back inside the vehicle. What he saw… The eeriness on his skin intensified, and his heart boomed louder than the crackling thunder. How could this be? She was missing. Most likely dead. But there she sat in the passenger seat—Rosemary Kakeway, his best friend’s great aunt.
